Thomas McClary A Story of a Commodore

Thomas McClary A Story of a CommodoreIf you grew up in the 90s, the chances are you have been swinging your hips to one particular song performed by Faith No More called “Easy”. Just like the majority of us, I am sure you have enjoyed that solo guitar part as well. However, what you probably didn't know is that particular part of that

song was written by Thomas McClary, one of the best and most prominent musicians and producers of 70s and 80s.

The early career

Thomas McClary was born in Florida in 1949 and showed an interest in music from an early age. He started playing ukulele but gradually moved to guitar. He didn't became immersed into the music scene right away and decided to finish school. After all, education was very important to him. Surely the fact that he attended Tuskegee University was the watershed moment of his career since that is the place where his music career lifted off. Meeting Lionel Richie who was a fellow student at that university prompted him to enter the world of music through creation of the band called The Mystics. They were very active in the local music scene, and shortly after blended with  another local band called The Jays in order to create Commodores.
